Thank you to all of the readers who took time out of their busy schedules to come read to our students who loved every minute of it! A special thank you to Mrs. Conary for coordinating the event!

March Menus

Today we celebrated our February students of the month! We would like to thank our Old Town High School athletes, Emmitt Byther, Tyler Priest, Taylor Loring, Natalie Fournier, and Taylor Madden for being our special guests and helpers today as a special treat for our students!
Our Student Council recognized February staff of the month Mrs. Young, Mrs. Holmes, Ms. Whitmore, and Mr. Askins! And we highlighted the Boys B Basketball team sportsmanship banner. It was an assembly filled with celebrations!

Some 1st and 2nd graders took advantage of the snowman like snow and had fun making snowmen at recess!

Parent Teachers Conferences are coming right up. Have you received a notice from your child's teacher, filled it out and returned it? If not, please do so today!

Do you have talent? Student Council is looking for you!

There will be no after school activities or Black Bear Mentoring today, Thursday February 27th.

Second grade worked on a fun STEM project today! Students were challenged to work as a team and create the tallest structure they could using gummy hearts and toothpicks. So much wonderful teamwork and scientific thinking happened! The students had so much fun!

What a fun Valentine’s Day in Mrs. Madden’s first grade! We made our own Valentine’s bags to hold our goodies, passed out Valentine’s to our friends, graphed conversation hearts, measured our friends with paper hearts, built structures with toothpicks and gum drops. We also read “The Day it Rained Hearts” and reenacted it with sight words to read on the hearts! And of course we had a party after lunch with crafts, games and cupcakes!!!!

As a part of Valentine's day, Mrs. Estes' class went on an African Safari and learned about the sizes of the elephant shrew, hyena, and elephant's heart. We went around and found objects in the classroom that were similar in size to each of the animals' hearts.
