Mrs. Madden’s first graders celebrated the 100th day of school on Friday. The students enjoyed showing off their “100 things museum”, explored multiple STEM activities consisting of 100 items each, read books, read 100 words, did 100 physical activities, made “our 100 year old selves” craft , made a giant butterfly with 100 spots, watched “Emily’s first 100 days of school “ and had a special snack! Phew what a fun day!!

Mrs. Estes' class had a blast celebrating the 100th day of school! A few of our favorite activities were making a 100th day necklace with 100 beads, making and eating a 100 day snack, and building a tower taller than them as a team with cups!

The 100th day of school is a special day in the school year and celebrated in many classrooms! Here is Mrs. Weissman's 2nd grade participating in activities to highlight the special occasion!

Some of our 8th grade students experienced a day in the life of a John Bapst student today. They heard from all of their academic departments, learned about life after the school day, and saw the facilities. 8th graders will continue to learn about the opportunities available to them for high schools as high school transition time continues.

Our January students of the month were celebrated with an assembly full of fun! Our cheerleaders were also celebrated and got to share their shiny gold trophy! We presented our first staff or the month awards to Ms. Romero, Mrs. Reinzo, Ms. Mosley, and Mr. Cushman! We had a lot to be proud of this month! Keep up the great work Wildcats!

Students were very excited to see the staff that "won" the pie a teacher raffle to support the Warren Kidder Scholarship! At our last assembly they watched as Mrs. Young, Mrs. Mailman, and Ms. Romero were pied by 4 lucky students! It was a lot of fun and raised money for a deserving student in memory of a very special teacher.

Here is a local opportunity for some baseball!

Due to the timing and severity of tomorrow afternoon's storm, we will have an 11:30 release. Lunch will still be served. All afternoon activities are cancelled.

4th graders had a visit from Versant Power today to learn about power line and electrical safety. They got to see a model of what happens when power lines are touched and what happens if you touch something that is touching a power line. They really enjoyed the demo and having their electricity questions answered. If you have a 4th grader at home, be prepared to be asked some safety questions! Your student was challenged to share what they learned at home with their families.

The 8th graders are learning about their high school choices for next year. On February 4th, they visited Orono High School. They met Orono students, got a tour of the building, and learned about the academics and co-curricular activities available at OHS. They also played some games and had a dance-off with the Red Riot mascot. It was a fun day and students learned about one of their high school options.
