Last week the 6th grade started learning about the Rock Cycle. They conducted a simulation using crayons ("sediments"), force and hot plates. Although it was tedious and a bit stinky, students learned a lot and gained a better understanding of the rock cycle.
The Boys Soccer team has had a strong season with a win-loss-tie record of 2-2-2. We enter the final stretch of our regular season with games at Holbrook on October 3rd and our final game of the season at home against Caravel on October 10th. The team has shown an incredible amount of progress since the start of the season and has proven themselves as a formidable opponent.
On October 1st, we recognized the 8th grade boys prior to our home game against Glenburn. You can see pictures of our eighth graders pictured below.
Lastly, we are pleased to share that the 2nd Annual Milford Soccer Slam will be held on Friday, October 18th at 3:30pm. Come watch as the Boys and Girls soccer teams take on their families as well as teachers from Lewis Libby. It is sure to be a thrill!
The girls had their FIRST win of the season last night in their game against Holbrook. The final score was 7-1!
The girls used the skills they have been learning in practice on the game field, which paid off in yesterday's game!

X-country had a great meet yesterday at Bangor Christian School. All of our athletes came home with a ribbon or honorable mention! Our boys tied for third and our girls took home the second place win! All around a great meet and we are seeing great improvements meet after meet. Keep it up team! Practice today after school.

Our UMaine hockey guests also met with students, signed autographs, and spoke with our 4th-8th grade students about making positive choices at school and in life! It was a memorable day! Thank you Mrs. Curtis for making it possible!
We had special guests today to celebrate our September students of the month! Thank you UMaine Hockey for sharing team members with us today! Our September students had lots of fun playing floor hockey games with the players and celebrating their big accomplishment of being the student of the month!

Today's soccer games against Caravel have been rescheduled to Oct. 10th. 8th grade players will be recognized at the Tuesday Oct. 1st games as planned.
