2026/2027 School Calendar

Cross Country practice starts on Monday, August 31st from 2:30 to 3:30. Please have the student wear sneakers and bring a water bottle. Cross Country practices will be Monday through Thursday from 2:30 to 3:30 unless there is a meet.

Boys & Girls' soccer tryouts will be Monday, August 31st and Tuesday, September 1st from 2:30 to 4:00. Please be sure that the student has a water bottle and sneakers or cleats. Practices will be Monday through Thursday from 2:30 to 4:00 unless there is a scheduled game.

We hope you'll join us for the Open House today from 3:00 to 5:00! Bring cash to use at the Darling's Ice Cream Truck and help support our 8th grade class trip.

Breakfast for Wednesday, August 26th will be chocolate chip muffin, yogurt, fruit & juice.

Lunch for Wednesday, August 26th will be chicken burger, Sun chips, vegetable & fruit.

Keep on Reading, but don’t forget to give Mrs. Curtis your Passport when you come back to school. Technically, you will have until September 25th to turn them in, but if you’ve reached the 500 minutes, you can return those passports beforehand. See you all soon!

Is your 5th through 8th grader planning to play sports this year? If so, do they have an up to date sports physical on file? Forms are available in the main office.

8th Grade Celebrated Monday Night with a Promotion Ceremony and party with their classmates.

We will miss all of the 8th graders and wish them the best in high school!

Congratulations to 8-2 on being the winners of The Milford Cup! Our middle school students competed in activities for 2 days and the homeroom who acquired the most points earned the privilege of signing their names to The Milford Cup. This tradition has been going on since 2013 and is always a highlight of the year. Great job Wildcats!

Once again, Dr. Lewis S. Libby School is participating in the Maine Department of Education’s Read to Ride Summer Reading Challenge. The challenge is to read (or in the case of the littles, being read to) 500 or more minutes over the summer! Please look for your child’s “Passport” in their report card envelope and/or backpack. The Passport is where he/she records 500 or more minutes of summer reading. Please return the Passport to Mrs. Curtis by September 25, 2026 in order to get a chance at winning a bike. FYI: We have had several bike winners over the years!. Have fun reading!
